Ford Fiesta ST - a cinematic advertisment shortfilm
An advertisment short film to show the cinematic possibilities of a well functioning production duo. After filming the shots together, I wrote a soundtrack which would fit a film like this. After only 2 nighs of composing I had a final version which was used by Claudius Wick - top scholarship holder at columbia college for film production - to make a working film out of the raw material. This is the result!
Moses Variations for 2 Cellos - N. Paganini
Paganini's Moses Variations for One String performed by Yugyung Kim and Sören L. Schirmer in front of Isabell Schulte's Part V.
Playing N. Paganini's so called 'Moses Variations for one String' in a version for 2 Cellos and arranging the original Violin & Piano version was great. Getting in touch with Isabell Schulte, playing in front of her artwork and combining both arts through a short film with many cinematographic eye--catchers was even better. With the help of Dirk Bösenberg and his charming foundation it was possible to create this self-directed film on a very high level.
Prelude for 2 Cellos - D. Schostakovich
The whole production was sponsored and initiated by the Bösenberg Stiftung.
For a concert Yugyung Kim and I arranged Schostakovich's Prelude for 2 Cellos - it worked well but there was a need for an introducing element. Therefore I created both - a muscial and cinematic introduction for this sentimental piece, full of the so called 'russian soul'.
Strawinsky's Suite Italienne played by Yugyung Kim. This live recording fom the 6th of February 2020 took place at the HMTM Hannover. The Pianist: Atsuko Oba.

This was more or less an experiment: Cutting a video without any music but a strict timing. Watching the result while sitting on the piano and recording a musical perception of those visual elements was something new for me as well. But it worked well enough to later on compose a few other elements around the piano voice.
